Port Botany Operations Centre
Commercial
During my tenure at Jackson Teece Architects, I was Project Leader for the Operations Centre, responsible for the delivery of this project from concept design in 2006 through to its completion in 2009. The new Marine Operations building at Port Botany reflects a commitment by Sydney Ports to create high quality and environmentally sustainable buildings. The four-storey building houses a variety of functions including administration, port navigation and emergency/incident response. The upper commercial block cantilevers out dramatically at the northern approach, while the lower operational block stretches out southwards to envelop an existing building.
Jackson Teece Architecture with Andy Oxnard as Project Leader was engaged to design a new operations centre for Sydney Ports Corporation within the Botany Port precinct. Andrews skills as a designer ensured that the final design produced a distinctive, high quality, functional building. During the construction phase Andrew was instrumental in the coordination and management of the project. He dealt with the builders queries and issues in a professional and enthusiastic manner; which has resulted in a very positive contract relationship between all parties. I would have no hesitation in recommending Andrew.
